Trespassing Against Us in the Dark

Trespassers unseen stake a claim against us. We mistake them for others.
They appear to come unbidden, unrecognized as threats.

"Rustlers!" we cry out. "They broke in and stole us away from our refuge."

These self desires lead us into temptations. Enticed by our urges we lose our will and stray from the highest rank. In the dark we sense our poverty, our imperfections of our own trespassing against us.

Our cry changes and we howl, "O my Lord, it is us who trespass against ourselves!"

We recognize the trespassers as us, our self desires that overcome our yearning for the kingdom within.

Our companions, silence and solitude light the darkened and dim image. We crawl towards her, "Uh," we whimper, "she is still there."
